Winter Poetry From Marie Curtis

Anyone who knew Marie Curtis during her long and active life knew of her love of poetry, especially poems that reflected day-to-day life on the farm. Going through the bookshelves in the farmhouse, I found this handpicked collection of poetry which includes poems for every season of the year. Some of the poems were clipped out of newspapers but most were transcribed by Marie, showcasing her beautiful handwriting.

Despite a recent warm-up (almost 50 degrees the other day!), winter has definitely arrived at Journey’s End with our coldest night clocking in at -2 degrees. What better way to welcome the season of snow and sugaring than with some of Marie’s favorite winter poems, including two of her own.

Happy winter everyone! Stay warm out there.
