Camp Memories from the Mid-60s

One day in June, about the time camp would have opened in a non-pandemic year, we received this message:

“Hello, Journey’s End, My sister and I are 60 and 62 years old. We came to Journey's End in the mid-sixties. I milked cows with Ralph any morning that I could wake up early…”

A week earlier, a recent art school grad (also a camper and former JE counselor) had written to express interest in doing some artwork for Journey’s End. We initiated a connection between the illustrator and the camper that resulted in the comic you see here. We’re grateful to Nicole Zarowin and to John Grund for their collaboration, reminding us of the legacy of Ralph and Marie Curtis.
