Rainbow surprised us by giving birth to twins today. We were on a family walk in the woods and decided to cross the creek by way of the bridge. Lily was the first to discover the wet little newborns when she went ahead to give Rainbow some rose hips and tender spring multiflora leaves. Luckily, Lily had made a second hay rack for the goat pen a few days ago, and Andy and Cahir had attached a shelter to the back of the goat house so the pen could be divided to give Rainbow her own space. Mick and Katy watched curiously from the other side of the fence. The twins— a boy and a girl— and Rainbow, are tucked in for the night with lots of bedding and hay bales for insulation. Happy Easter!
